Summary group / group pricing

A summary group is a named grouping of estimate lines — a phase, an alternate, a building, or any other division of the work — used to present the estimate to a customer in the shape the customer thinks about it. Group pricing is what a proposal does with those groups: each group prints as its own section with a heading, its lines beneath it and a subtotal, and the pricing detail can be shown per item, per group, or as a total only. Lines that no group claims are still printed, under a heading such as Additional Items, so grouping changes how an itemization is arranged and never quietly removes scope or money from it. The distinction from a trade or cost-code breakdown is the audience: trades organize the work internally, while summary groups organize the offer — base bid here, alternates there.
